Home AirSeal is pleased to present the report from our October 31, Installation of the Aeroseal Envelope in Vero Beach, FL

Installation Report Synopsis

This report presents the results of a recent envelope-sealing service performed to improve the energy efficiency and air-tightness of a 1,147-square-foot structure with an enclosed volume of 9,770 cubic feet. Air leakage reduction is critical to building performance, directly impacting heating, cooling efficiency, and indoor air quality. By identifying and addressing gaps in the building envelope, we aimed to significantly reduce the air exchange rate between the interior and exterior, lowering energy loss and improving the building’s overall comfort and durability.

Before service, the structure exhibited an air leakage rate of 737.8 cubic feet per minute (CFM) at a standardized pressure of 50 Pa, corresponding to an equivalent hole size of 88.8 square inches and a rate of 4.53 air changes per hour (ACH). After sealing, this leakage rate was successfully reduced to 132.6 CFM, with an equivalent hole size of 16.0 square inches and an ACH of 0.81. The envelope sealing achieved an impressive 82.0% reduction in leakage, marking a substantial improvement in the building’s energy performance.

The data collected during this process will help illustrate the benefits of envelope sealing for energy conservation and provide insight into the specific improvements made to this structure.
